🔎 Which foods raise your blood sugar?

          🥗 Search food

How strongly common foods raise blood sugar, per typical serving. Tap a food for details.

What do GI and GL mean?

            GI (glycemic index) — how fast a food's carbohydrate raises blood sugar compared with pure glucose (100). Low ≤ 55 · Medium 56–69 · High ≥ 70.

GL (glycemic load) — GI × carbohydrate in the serving ÷ 100. It shows how much a normal serving actually raises blood sugar, so it is the more practical number. Low ≤ 10 · Medium 11–19 · High ≥ 20.

Values are approximate (International GI Tables, Atkinson et al. 2008/2021). “Estimated” items are mixed local dishes or drinks without a lab-measured GI. Cooking, ripeness, portion size and what you eat with it all change the effect — your own readings are the best guide.

The AI assistant is not set up on this server yet. The site owner needs to add an Anthropic API key (GitHub secret ANTHROPIC_API_KEY) and redeploy.

            ✨ AI assistant

Powered by Claude Haiku (Anthropic). It can:

            • 📷 recognise the food in your meal photos and estimate carbohydrates
            • 📊 write a weekly summary of your blood sugar
            • 💬 answer questions about your own readings, meals and medicines
            • 👪 let family members you share with ask about your data, to help you

When you use it, the data needed for your question (readings, meals, food tags, medicines, photos you choose) is sent to Anthropic to generate the answer. It is not a doctor and never gives medicine doses. You can turn it off any time in Settings.

                Daily testing reminders

                  Profile & targets

Ask your doctor for your personal target range. Common default: 70–140 mg/dL (3.9–7.8 mmol/L).

                  Notifications

On iPhone/iPad: first tap Share → “Add to Home Screen”, open the app from the home screen, then turn on notifications here (iOS 16.4 or newer).

The server's scheduled task (cron job) isn't running yet, so reminders only arrive while the app is open. See README → “Notifications”.

If I haven't logged any reading by this time, remind me — and alert my family (when I share my results with them).

                  ⏰ Alarm-style reminders

Test, after-meal and medicine reminders keep alerting (sound + vibration) until you respond — mark it done, tap it, press Stop or swipe it away.

Tip (Android): Settings → Apps → Blood Sugar Monitor (or Chrome) → Notifications → set reminders to Alert / Pop on screen, pick a loud sound and allow it to override Do Not Disturb.
